This visualization renders a true 8-dimensional mathematical projection of the E8 root lattice—one of the largest exceptional simple Lie groups. E8 is fundamental to String Theory, representing the gauge group of the heterotic string.
Use the Tweakpane UI in the top right to physically rotate the 8D vectors across four orthogonal planes (0-4, 1-5, 2-6, 3-7). The math is calculated dynamically in JavaScript before being flushed to the WebGPU compute pipeline.
The 240 glowing cyan nodes represent the roots of the lattice. When projected into 3D and 4D space, these exact mathematical coordinates align with the atomic structures of naturally occurring Quasicrystals (e.g., Icosahedrite found in the Khatyrka meteorite). Future APIs will pull live crystallographic bounding structures via The Materials Project.
